Conventions - Promotion of Models and Talent

La Mode has had great success promoting models and actors attend annual conventions at which International scouts are present. These events are: Faces West International, and the World Model & Talent event. Each of these conventions are held annually in Vancouver, and Las Vegas. These events usually draw between 40 and 50 international scouts, all of whom are looking for the next Super Model, or great actor. The cost to attend is usually lower than promoting by book copies alone.

Conventions are not designed just for professional models, or actors - 90% of the entrants have had minimal experience. La Mode & Karolina Models spend a great deal of time preparing our people to attend events of this magnitude. Please note that a model/actor has first to be invited or selected in order to attend, and only agencies recognized by the conventions may send their people. You cannot walk in off of the street and not just anyone can attend. Due to this selection process, your chances of being "seen" by the right scout are much greater. Additionally your chance for successful placement is guided at these events by your mother agency.

Requirements for attendance are:

Female height minimum - 5'6" if 14 or older, unless attending for talent selection;

Male height minimum 5'8" if 14-17, and 5'11" if 18 or older, unless attending for talent selection;

Ages 4 and older may attend for talent selection for the Vancouver and Toronto Markets

For models, correct body proportioning and measurements according to height

Portfolio, minimum 8-10 enlargements;

Composite cards (zed cards)

If a model does not meet the requirements, we would prefer to wait one year or so and work on their book development and image,rather than inviting them to attend.
